  1. Hi there,
I like the Raven Guard, but I don't like the chapter tactic they got.

Your list fits the fluff, but it's not gonna be easy to play it.

It's hard when you got to face things like waveserpents or Riptides, Wraithknights.

    1. Shadowcl4w, Thanks for dropping by. To make the most of the Chapter Tactics, I should probably add some more Assault Marines or Vanguard Veterans. And to get to 1750, that is probably what I will add. I don't do tournaments or face that many very competitive opponents. When I do, I make sure to play the mission, and set at least one secret mission goal for myself and try to accomplish it. This way I can enjoy the game I'm playing. My list might not be easy to play, but I have all the guys, there are excellent modeling and painting opportunities, and it's always fun to zoom around in land speeders.

I'm considering some IG Veterans as allies, also, and then I could bring a Vendetta to take care of big things.

    2. I agree with you that those models are excellent, and I love Land Speeders too ^^ That's the reason why I started Dark Angels ( a shame they don't have access to the LS Storm, I love that model) about 2 months ago ... but with the new Space Marine codex, it's hard not to drop them completely.

tbh I'd love to play a similiar list like you do, but my friends play mostly Tau, Eldar and Necrons. So I got a hard time, since most of their weapons are ap4 and ignore my cover.

It's great to hear that you can enjoy the game the way you play it, and I envy you for it :) I kind of lost that :/

    3. I like the look of it Kev mate, and you should always make your opponent worry about your army, not the other way around lol. For personal preference I'd whack a meltabomb on each scout squad, tell your opponent, and then watch his deployment change as he tries to make sure all his wave serpents don't get melta'd to death turn 2......

But, this army list will only work if you can make a realistic 'zooooom' noise as you move the land speeders. It took me years to get the razorwing jetfighter right so you'd best start practising.........

  2. @Shadowcl4w: I say play the list you want. Just because the RULES say you have to try and win the main objective doesn't mean you can't play for fun. Most actual battles are between forces that are quite unevenly matched. But if you want to protect your forces from ignores cover, invest in a Skyshield Pad. With the sides up you get a 4+ Invul save not a cover save.

@Neil: I can zoom quite well. When I started playing Battletech, I was admonished that you could only use your jump jets if you said "fwoosh".

As for the meltabombs, I have a big one in my Drop Pod Assault Tactical Squad. Multimelta, Meltagun and Combi Melta should do a number on lots of vehicles, and I get to do it on turn one.

    1. Excellent news! Objectives are for wimps, give me a good zoooooom noise and I'll show you one of life's winners!

Seriously though, it does look fun to use, hope you enjoy playing it mate
